Of the 7,500 hectares of the commune, 5,400 ha are devoted to agriculture; the remaining area is occupied by other uses and forests.


In 2000 (date of the last census), there were 130 working farms.  200 full-time workers were employed on the land. Today, we estimate the number of working farms to be 70 (a census was taken this year).



As elsewhere in Ille et Vilaine, the principal production is milk (3,700 cows in the commune in 2000), we also produce beef, pork and poultry. The majority of this production goes to industrial food processors in the region, only a few producers pf pork, beef, cheese, cider and bread sell their produce direct to local consumers.



The main difficulty of this way of life is access to land. The present Council is encouraging this way of life.
